Gautam gambhir, Sunny Deol, Urmila matondkar, vijender singh, Hansraj Hans etc are the few names which has been added up in the already fat list of Parachute candidates for Parliament elections.
Political parties generally distribute tickets to celebrity candidates to take advantage of his/her fan following base as voter.
The celebrity also used to be interested and take this opportunity for enhance their so called reputation/fame or fullfilling their ambition.
Obviously it's really rare that any one of these parachute candidate really want to serve and interested in the people of their respective constituency.
The attendance of past celebrity MPs in Loksabha is enough to prove the above statement.
However It's a mutual beneficial deal b/w a political party and a celebrity.
BUT it's not at all good for democracy.
Not good for common people , and definitely not good for political party workers, who has been working for years, day and night, in the hope that one day they will get chance to represent their party in parliament.
It is actually the moral duty of parliamentarian that he/she should stand with the people in case of any requirement in their constituency on the contrary these celebrity Loksabha members keep continuing their professional work on full time basis and rarely visit to their constituency regions.
Solutions:
First, these Parachute candidates should have learn from few exceptional celebrity Loksabha members like Sunil Dutt etc and should leave their Full time professional work, and involve them selves actually with the public.
Second, the political party leadership's have to understand that by launching the parachute candidates in bulk they are actually demotivating their workers.
Third and most important, common people has to understand while voting, you should not vote some one just because you like his or her acting/sports instead of his/her actual work towards society/common people.
If we will not be aware about it, then in this mutual beneficial scheme of political parties and celebrities one day most of the Loksabha members may be the celebrities and unfortunately that day parliament will not be representing the whole country i.e "LOK" Sabha rather be representing the Bollywood or cricket Sabha.
Their is fine saying also that " Be fan/follower of anyone but never of a politician".
